>> EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND COLLEGE ASSOCIATIONS

This encourages students to participate in all organized activities. It contributes towards all round development of the person, seeks to build leadership qualities and to help students discover and develop their talents.

 

COLLEGE ASSOCIATIONS

The Vice - President and office bearers of the various associations will jointly plan their meetings at the beginning of each term. There will be one Association meeting once in two weeks, generally. 

The Associations award prizes at the end of the year to their best speakers, elocutionists and others in the contests held. 

Reputed speakers will be invited to deliver lecture during the year. The students are advised to play an active part at the meetings which are conducted, to prepare them for public life and develop initiative.

CATHOLICS STUDENT ASSOCIATION (CSA)

The CSA is the college unit of the All India Catholic University Federation which is a movement of students inspired by the Person and word of Christ. 

OBJECTIVES

To develop in its members a genuine Christian life and the personal realization of the implication of their faith. 

To create a deep sense of awareness towards people through involvement at different levels namely cultural, political, socio-economical and educational, thereby strengthening their total formation. 

To provide them with an opportunity for involvement in the development of the country. 

To equip them with a sound theoretical formation that will provide the answers to the problems facing them. 

To transform the Church in order to make it more credible to the times in the true spirit of the Gospel. 

To join hands with similar student organizations both at national and international levels in their common efforts towards the development and liberation of man.

CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC RENEWAL (CCR)

The Catholic Charismatic renewal (CCR) is a means of encountering in a conscious and personal way, the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the compassionate love of the Father and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, leading to a committed and joyful involvement in the building up of the Body of Christ or the Christian Community. 

The prayer meeting is the daily gathering of a community trying to live an intense Christian life in the modern world. Its primary purpose is to Praise God and build up the BODY OF CHRIST.

FORMER STUDENTS ASSOCIATES

The college F.S.A. is the link between the students and the college, between the past, the present and the future. 

The college F.S.A. aims at including in its membership list, every student who has once been within the walls of the college, however long or short the time may have been, but it has a special place in its heart for students who have completed the full course in the college and graduated from it. Old members are requested to please bring in new members. 

Subscription and all inquiries should be addressed to the Secretary. 

The F.S.A. meets at least twice a year. The Secretaries convene the meeting. The office bearers are elected at the last meeting of the preceding year.

SPECIAL PRIZES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR

The best prefect of the year as adjudged by the Principal and the Staff will be awarded the Principal's prize. 

The Best Student prize will be awarded to the student who in the opinion of the staff, is the best, taking all things into consideration such as character, conduct, attendance, excellence in studies and participation in college activities to the best of her ability. 

The best Sports Woman prize will be awarded to the student who in the opinion of the staff, participates in the most sports activities and wins Credit in Games and Athletics.

STUDENTS GOVERNMENT

The generally accepted purpose of the campus Student Government includes the following: 

1. To teach good citizenship.
2. To facilitate campus communication and control. 
3. To assist in the building of campus morale. 

The student government is charged with maintaining order, promoting active co-operation among all members of the college community, fostering intelligent interest and participation in college activities, increasing the sense of individual responsibility, personal integrity and loyalty and preparing students to take their proper share in serving the nation and the world. 

The college authorities have the right to dissolve an unsatisfactory and inefficient Student government or change individual office bearers who do not conform to college rules or in any way prove unworthy of the office they hold.
